1. Confess that God has not been first place
in your life and ask Him to forgive your sins.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
2. Believe in your heart that Jesus died to pay for your sins and that
he rose from the again on Easter, and is alive today.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
"Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name
under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
3. Accept God's free gift of salvation. Don't try to earn it.
"For it is by grace you are saved, through faith - and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can
boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
Our relationship with God is not restored by anything we do, but on the
basis of what Jesus already did for us!
4. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and be the director
("Lord") of your life.
"Dear Jesus, thank you for making me and loving me. I know in my heart
that I have ignored you and lived my life selfishly. I realize I need
you in my life and I'm sorry for my sins. I believe that you are the Son
of God and that you died for me. I believe that God raised you from the
dead. Lord I need your forgiveness. I ask you to come into my life as my
Lord and Savior. Make me a new person inside. I accept the gift that you
have given me and I am ready to turn my life over to you.
If you prayed that prayer and meant it in your heart, then you can be
assured as the scripture tells us "Whoever calls upon the name of the
Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13
